Coroner’s Office

The primary duty of the coroner is to determine the cause and manner of death of sudden and/or unexplained deaths, including all homicides, suicides, accidental, and some natural deaths. Other functions of this office include, positively identifying unidentified human remains, managing unclaimed human remains, conducting coroner’s inquests, maintaining death records, issuing death certificates on the coroner’s findings, responding to mass disasters, and reviewing all cases that occur in the County which are to be cremated.calls with professionalism, integrity, and compassion while efficiently dispatching police, fire, and emergency medical services.
