Wyoming County is located in the Northeast corner of Pennsylvania.  It is a 7th Class County with 18 Townships 5 Boroughs. It has a population of a little over 28,000 residents. Historic Route 6 and the North Branch of the Susquehanna River both pass through the county.  It is also known as “The Gateway to the Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania”. Wyoming County was formed out of the northern part of Luzerne County, by an act of Assembly approved April 4th, 1842. The original Courthouse was dedicated on April 4, 1843. The governing body is an elected three-person Board of Commissioners.
