What You Need to Apply
- Both applicants must be present in person
- Know your Social Security number
- Driver’s license or other photo identification
- Must be 18 or older
- Fee: $45.00 (cash or check)
- If divorced, bring a certified copy of the divorce decree
- If widowed, bring the date of death
- 3-day waiting period before license can be picked up
- License is valid for 60 calendar days after pickup

Certified Copy of Marriage License
You may obtain a certified copy of your marriage license from this office for $10 each.
Veterans and active military: with proper ID, you may receive one certified copy free of charge.
Request by mail: Include a check or money order payable to the Wyoming County Prothonotary Office, a copy of your Military ID or DD214 (if applicable), the applicant names, year married, number of copies, and your return mailing address.
Name Change After Marriage – Where to Update
- Social Security: Update your name with SSA
- PennDOT / Driver’s License: Change name with PennDOT
- U.S. Passport: Change or correct your passport
